Repertoire for Cantare Choir for January 8 Westminster Canterbury Epiphany Concert:

Be sure you have all new music! If you don't have one of these, call Mrs. Hope to get it as soon as possible.
All music memorized! New music to be memorized by the Mandatory Rehearsal January 2nd!
Epiphany 136- O Wondrous Type - verse 1 Pro Arte, verse 2 Cavalieri, verse 3 All. This plainchant is much trickier than it looks in order to get words and notes together and memorized.
Hymn: Abide with Me - verse 1 Unison, verse 2 & 3 in parts, verse 4 altos, tenors, basses sing melody, sopranos sing descant part on the back.
Siyahamba - Make sure you learn the part assigned you for THIS year (not whatever part you might have learned before.)
Top part: William, Brock, Chip, Lillian, Dominique, Grace, Samantha
Middle part: Emmett, Xander, Katherine, Nina, Sharita, Faith
Bottom part: Owen, Martin, Meaghan, Lauren, Sarabeth, Naomi
Pro Arte: Let It Shine! Pages 2-8 sopranos sing part 1, altos sing part 2. Pages 9 -11 divide in 3 parts as listed above for Siyahamba. Page 12 All sing "Gonna let it shine!" both times. This is tricky because it is a familiar song from the folk tradition, so every arrangement is slightly different from another. Learn written notes and rhythms carefully!
Cavalieri: Magnificat Movement #4 - solo sung by all tenors and basses - Practice with beautiful tone and vowel sounds.

Write in solfege and practice singing Vivaldi "Et Exultavit" in solfege. B-flat is "DO".
Treble Choir - Mandatory Rehearsal Tuesday Jan. 3, 2017
Concentrate on learning "A Windy Story" for the Jan. 27 concert.
Practice 23rd Psalm in solfege and with words. F is "DO".
"Amazing Grace" We have made cuts to this arrangement:
Sing in unison pages 4 through top of 6. At the end of measure 35 cut to measure 52 at the bottom of page 7 "When we've been there...." Stop at the bottom of page 8. We can sing the whole song in unison, but we could have one person sing as a solo the line marked "Small Group" at measure 53 if someone would like to learn it and audition for the part.
